If you’re keeping score, Sinclair Broadcast Group to date has concocted four “must-run” segments pushing for a quick, question-free confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the United State Supreme Court.
Kavanaugh was nominated to the post on July 9th.
In less than three weeks, four must-run segments.
Two of them feature marble-mouthed “chief political analyst” Boris Epshteyn holding forth and insisting that Kavanaugh is “the least controversial” and “easily the most confirmable” candidate.
The other two “must-runs” feature excerpts from interviews with Vice President Mike Pence and Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX) that side-step any questions there might be about Kavanaugh’s qualifications.
We don’t doubt that Kavanaugh is likely to be confirmed despite all the Washington posturing.
This is posturing on the part of an Administration-aligned media giant that is using its power to gain favor in Washington.
Some call that lobbying.
We call it selling out your local newsrooms in favor of your corporate agenda.
