“PART OF REWRITING YOUR STORY IS KNOWING WHEN IT’S TIME TO CLOSE OUT A CHAPTER.”

And with those words on her Facebook page, Debra Alfarone announced she is leaving Tegna’s WUSA weekend anchor slot.

Alfarone spent the past six years at the District of Columbia station.

If that posting is any indication, Alfarone may be leaving the station, but not the news business – not entirely.

“I’ll still be based here in DC working on an exciting new project to empower people across the globe to rewrite their own stories.”

“My passion is helping people discover the power of their own stories. And yes, YOU have a story. Everyone does. Does yours propel you forward, or hold you back?”
“I will also be reporting for a number of outlets – more on that soon too.”

She indicated more information would be forthcoming in December. Mark your calendars.
