VETERAN ANCHOR ANNOUNCES JUNE DEPARTURE

Mark the calendar, Seattle,

After 36 years, veteran anchor Lori Matsukawa is calling it a career and leaving Tegna’s KING.

“When I graduated from college, I told everyone I wanted a job where I’d learn something new every day. I found it here at KING-5. I am grateful to those who’ve been my teachers, mentors and supporters all these years. Thank you for your support. It’s been a heck of a ride!”

She’ll stick around until June 14th and then the cake gets cut.

Her replacement, KING morning anchor Joyce Taylor will move to the evening broadcast team June 17.

What’s next?

Matsukawa and her replacement had an extensive “Facebook Live” chat.
