He’s been weather anchor, morning news anchor, newscast producer, assignment editor and, ultimately principal news anchor and news director.
With more than 10,000 broadcasts behind him, Steve Asplund is celebrating 40 years at Gray’s WLUC in Marquette Michigan.
“When I think of Steve, I think of work ethic. The man is more devoted to his craft, to news, to journalism, to TV6 than any person I’ve ever worked with. And I’ve worked in journalism myself for almost 40 years,” said former WLUC News Director, Brian Cabell.
“The reason why our brand is as strong as it is, is because of Steve Asplund. He’s a great team mate, he’s a great leader and really, Steve’s an icon in the Upper Peninsula when it comes to news,” said station General Manager, Rick Rhoades.
