Meteorologist Ray Petelin, recently dropped by Hearst’s WTAE when the station declined to renew his contract, has landed in Gateway Center.
Petelin is now freelancing for CBS-owned KDKA.
His first on-air appearances came Friday and he worked through the weekend.
He said he linked up with KDKA through email after his career ended at WTAE.
“I’m really excited to be at a place that appreciates my experience and my creativity,” he said “I can’t wait to see how this goes.”
Last month, when it was announced he would be leaving WTAE, Petelin observed it was “not my decision, but that’s life. I choose to look at this as an opportunity, rather than a setback. The sun came up this morning.”
