Winston-Salem reporter Jarred Hill is getting bumped up by Hearst, the parent company of WXII in Winston-Salem, NC, where he’s been reporting for the past three years.

Starting Wednesday, Hill will be based in Washington, DC, serving as a national correspondent for Hearst stations across the country.

He most recently served as co-anchor of “WXII 12 News at 4 p.m.” and co-anchor of “WXII 12 News at 10 p.m.,”  which is seen on WCWG The Triad CW.

Hill’s new assignment is part of a Hearst commitment to provide more in-depth coverage leading up to, and following this year’s mid-term elections.

They could have used him there quite a bit earlier.
