Robb Ellis spent more than a year filling in as a freelancer on Chicago CBS O&O WBBM.
Now, he has finally gotten a full-time meteorologist job.
Ellis will be seen on weekend evening newscasts and serve as “point person on our weather technology and graphics,” according to news director Jeff Harris, who added: “His dedication and weather expertise is a perfect fit for the team.”
Not to mention his persistence in hanging in there until the station finally ponied up a contract.
Ellis was the former chief meteorologist at Raycom’s WIS in his native Columbia, South Carolina and prior to showing up in Chicago, previously worked at Nexstar’s WISH in Indianapolis.
The move follows the recent promotion of Mary Kay Kleist to 5, 6 and 10 p.m. weekday meteorologist at WBBM.
