At the beginning of the book, announce you’re leaving at the end of the book.
That is what is happening in Atlanta at Meredith’s revolving-door WGCL.
Surprisingly, the departee is anchor Sharon Reed, who’s been with the station for the past four years, coming from sister station KMOV in St. Louis.
She announced it to the staff Thursday afternoon and said “new opportunities” lay ahead.
No specifics, though.
Oddly, she’s leaving news director Steve Doerr behind.
Doerr, you may recall, is the news director who talked Reed into shedding her clothes for a news story/photo op when the two worked together at WOIO in Cleveland.
She survived that dumb stunt, and and another kerfluffle in late 2017, when she received an email from a viewer who used the N-word and she used the airwaves to clap back.
As a result, she received national headlines.
Just spell the name right.
