CBS News’ executive vice president of news Kim Godwin will be at the helm when the network launches the “CBS Evening News with Norah O’Donnell” next month from New York.
CBS News president Susan Zirinsky spread the news to staff this week that Godwin will be the executive producer for the broadcast while it is in New York.
Who takes over when the program moves to Washington come fall is anybody’s guess at this point.
Godwin is no stranger to the “Evening News.”
She was senior broadcast producer for the program when Scott Pelley sat in the anchor chair.
She joined CBS News in 2007 and has been executive vice-president of news in February.
Odd man out would appear to be Mosheh Oinounou who got the top job at “Evening News” just a year and a half ago.
We’re sure they are busy looking for some place to put him.
