After a 20-year career with the network that started by filling a producing slot based in Indonesia, CNN senior international correspondent Atika Shubert announced she is leaving the network.
She wants to put the tv news business on the shelf for a bit.
“I’m taking a break from news. CNN has been my home for 20 amazing years. But it’s time for change.”
The life of a foreign correspondent may sound exotic to some, but it is a grueling pace – especially when your East-Coast-based desk seemingly doesn’t get the concept of time zones.
We know more than a few folks who endured foreign postings and while they had great stories to share, they also found that burning the candle at both ends just melts you down faster.
We wish Shubert well. Sounds like she came out of it all with her head together.
