Last April, on the eve of the May sweeps we reported the unexpected departure of Susan Tully after four years at NBC-owned WVIT in Hartford, CT and total of 28 years with the NBC Stations Division.

At the time, she said she was moving back to Texas where her son was relocating but she was NOT retiring.

She said, “I plan to look for another opportunity after my son settles in Texas.”

Just a couple of months after arriving, opportunity came knocking and Tully answered.

Nexstar has hired Tully as senior vice president of local content development, a newly created position.

In the newly-created position, Tully will oversee the corporate content development team and will be responsible for managing the development and execution strategic local content.

Justlikethat, a job out of the blue.

*wink wink*
