Hours after he was released from jail on a $50,000 bond, meteorologist Mike Davis was fired by his employer, Dispatch-soon-to-be-Tegna’s WBNS in Columbus, OH.

As we reported here Friday, Davis was arrested at his suburban Columbus home Thursday morning on one felony count of pandering obscenity involving a minor filed by the Franklin County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

The incident involved either selling, distributing or displaying an image of a young girl engaged in a sex act on Aug. 5.

Investigators searched his home and the WBNS studios.

Electronics were seized at both locations searched.

WBNS reported Thursday that a laptop and four thumb drives were seized there.

It was tough on the folks at WBNS

“It has been a difficult few days and our team has been shocked by this news. We have decided to end our relationship with Mike Davis due to a violation of certain terms of his employment with WBNS. We have no further comment.”

So don’t ask.

A check of the web space where his station bio used to be reveals…..nothing

Davis had worked at WBNS for more than 30 years.
