“THE BUSINESS IS CHANGING”

And that, in a nutshell, sums up the reason Cammy Dierking is leaving the anchor desk at Sinclair’s WKRC in Cincinnati, OH at the end of the year, a story we first reported last summer.

She’s following on the heels of Rob Braun, who left WKRC after 35 years in June and recently resurfaced as the new face of a local bank chain.

She and Braun were first teamed up back in 2010 and generally dominated ratings during their run.

At the time of his departure, Braun said he didn’t think he fit the Sinclair news model – which is to say young, underpaid, overworked and completely malleable to whatever idea corporate dreams up.

Now WKRC has two prime anchor slots to fill.

Successful anchors who were devoted to their jobs until Sinclair came along with its cockeyed idea to force newspeople at its stations to read a Trump-pandering statement complaining about media companies pushing “their own personal bias and agenda” in March of 2018.

It’s getting tougher to call some of these operations “news” anymore.
